Character Summary
Rei Hino awakened as one of the soldiers of the Four Guardian Deities in volume 1, act 3. Her alter ego is Sailor Mars, and in the past she was the guardian of the princess of the moon, Serenity. She has the ability to control fire and is sophisticated, passionate and mature. In her civilian form she lives at the Hikawa Shrine with her grandpa, as she left her father. Her mother died when she was young, and her father never supported his family. This caused Rei to carry an aversion against men, and claims she does not need them as she has her friends and that is all she need.

She dislikes her father as he abandoned his family, and thus she decided to move to her grandpa. As Rei Hino, she has the ability to use ESP (Extrasensory perception) which is the purported ability to acquire information by paranormal means independent of any known physical senses or deduction from previous experience.
