Character Summary

Hotaru Tomoe is a thin, black-haired girl with fragile health. She's the daughter of the mad scientist S?ichi Tomoe, and the host of Mistress 9, as well as Sailor Saturn. When she was little, she lost her life in a fire inside of her father's lab. S?ichi saved her life by experimenting on his daughter, turning her into a cyborg, as well as implanting the egg of Mistress 9 into her. Because of this, her body took great damage, which also delayed the awakening of Sailor Saturn. After she meets the sailor soldiers, she develops a deep friendship with Chibi Usa.

Her Faces

Hotaru Tomoe is the civilian form of Sailor Saturn. She lives together with her father, professor S?ichi Tomoe, and his assistant Kaolinite. When she was little, she had a severe accident that changed her body forever and took her mother's life as well. She is often seen carrying around a black crystal given to her by her father. Unlike most of the other sailor soldiers civilian forms, Hotaru still has powers, such as healing.
Sailor Saturn is one of the soldiers of the Outer Solar System. Her powers deal with destruction, and is not a very welcome soldier. She transforms by shouting "Saturn Planet Power Make Up!"
Mistress 9 is the alien being implanted into Hotaru. Her appearance is that of an adult woman, with ridiciously long black hair. She was awakened in volume 9, act 30 after she took control over Hotaru's body and seized Chibi Usa's Silver Crystal. Hotaru regained her form when Sailor Saturn awakened within her.
Princess Saturn is the fourth form of Hotaru Tomoe. She has a castle located around Saturn called Titan, and is the princess of the planet Saturn. She has the ability to call forth power from her mother star, and she also has a Sailor Power Guardian that aids her.
