Family and Relatives Character Profiles

Ikuko Tsukino

Ikuko Tsukino is Usagi's loving mother and made her first appearance in volume 1, act 1. She does not have a job, but spends her time being a dedicated mother and a housewife. She is married to Kenji Tsukino, and has two children, Usagi and Shingo.

Kenji Tsukino

Kenji Tsukino is Usagi's father and made his first appearance in volume 1, act 4. He was dressed up for the dinner party at the D Kingdom Embassy, which he was going to cover for his magazine. Kenji works as a magazine editor, is married to Ikuko Tsukino and has two children, Usagi and Shingo. He's slightly overprotective when it comes to his daughter and boys.

Shingo Tsukino

Shingo Tsukino is Usagi's little brother and first appears in volume 1, act 1. He loves to tease Usagi and often get into quarrels with her.

Rei's Grandpa

Rei's grandpa first appeared in volume 1, act 5 and is the owner of the Hikawa Shrine. He took in Rei after she decided to leave her father. Rei's grandpa seldom appears and he seemingly have a thing for pretty girls, as he once asked Usagi, Ami and Makoto if the "cute girls" would consider becoming shrine maidens.

Rei's Mother

Rei's mother had a weak body and always looked lonely since her husband was never home, nor cared for his family. She was a slender person and eventually died, leaving Rei to her father. She was only seen in a flashback in the side-story Casablanca Memories. Rei later left home to live at her grandpa's shrine.

Rei's Father

Rei's father works as a politician and is only seen as a shadow in the side-story Casablanca Memories. He's part of the Democratic Liberal Party, and eats dinner out with Rei every year at her birthday. He is greatly disliked by Rei, as he rarely comes home and never cared about his family. Rei later left to live at her grandpa's shrine.

Ami's Mother

Ami's mother is only seen a few times and is very busy, as she works as a doctor. She is mentioned several times in the manga, but made her first appearance in volume 12, act 35. She was married to Ami's father, but ended up divorcing him as they were not compatible.

Ami's Father

Ami's father is never seen in person and only appears in a flashback in volume 12, act 35. He is a Japanese painter and loves relaxing in life and nature. He was married to Ami's mother, but one day he traveled to his atelier located in the forest and never came back. He sends Ami postcards on her birthdays, but never comes to visit.

Makoto's Mother and Father

Makoto's mother and father died when she was little in a plane accident, and Makoto has been living alone ever since. This also made Makoto terribly afraid of airplanes.

Minako's Mother

Minako's mother is never seen in Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon, but actually only appears in person in the prequel Codename: Sailor V. She is greatly disliked by Minako.

Minako's Father

Minako's father is never seen in Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon, but actually only appears in person in the prequel Codename: Sailor V. Minako's mother finds him to be a failure in life.
